Memorial Pages

If you are a family member or close friend of one of the victims of the September 11 attacks, and you would like to have us make a memorial webpage for your loved one, we will need you to send us any pictures, stories, poetry, or background music you would like to be on your page. If more than one person requests a page for the same person, one page will be created using materials supplied by both. We will create the page and upload it for your approval before adding it to the live website. Memorial pages will be created and hosted free of charge. This is just our way of paying respect to the memory of all the people whose lives were lost.

There are several methods by which you can get your files to us:

  1. Send the files as an email attachment.

  2. Upload them to a webspace where we can get the files via download.

  3. Send copies of the pictures and text files via regular mail. Email us to get the street address.

Don't worry about the file size of the pictures or music files, we will edit them to make them as small in file size as possible without sacrificing quality. For images, it's better if we get the bigger files - they can be compressed to load quickly, but it is nearly impossible to improve a badly compressed image file.

If you have seen an effect on the web you would like us to use (slideshow, snow applet, etc.), let us know, and we will code it into your page. Due to copyright concerns, MIDI files are preferable for background music. However, if you own the copyright to the music, or have the copyright owner's permission to use it for this purpose, we will gladly include it in your memorial page. We will try to find the MIDI files for you, if you'd like - just give us the name of the song.

If you have any questions about the procedure to get a memorial page, please feel free to email us. We will do our best to make this process as easy as possible for you.
